The lectures, one in Dublin and another in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, provided a simplified and practical approach to the management and treatment of heart failure, using case studies and detailing an up to date approach based on current guidelines and recommendations.
The expert speaker was RCVS Specialist in Veterinary Cardiology Mike Martin MVB DVC MRCVS, a frequent European Continuing Professional Development (CPD) lecturer who has published more than 40 scientific peer reviewed papers and has presented his clinical research at specialist cardiology meetings in Europe and the USA.
Dechra Brand Manager Carol Morgan said: “Both sessions offered an interesting and pragmatic approach to the diagnosis and management of heart disease in dogs and cats.
“Using real life examples and Mike’s wealth of experience in the field of cardiology, delegates were able to learn more about the best diagnosis and treatment path for animals within their own caseload.”
The CPD sessions were organised in support of Cardisure®, Dechra’s product that is licensed for the treatment of canine congestive heart failure originating from valvular insufficiency (mitral and/or tricuspid regurgitation) or dilated cardiomyopathy.
Cardisure is available in 1.25 mg, 2.5 mg, 5 mg and 10 mg strengths.
