Dechra Veterinary Products are inviting you to attend a FREE CPD webinar ‘Analgesia for ovariohysterectomy in dogs and cats and the role of Comfortan®’ on Tuesday 30th April 2019 at 7.30 pm
Reader in Veterinary Anaesthesia, University of Bristol, United Kingdom
Ovariohysterectomy is a frequently performed surgical procedure in dogs and cats and standard protocols are often used even though we now know this procedure causes moderate-severe pain.
Dr Murrell has recently carried out studies to investigate which opioid provides optimum analgesia for this procedure in both dogs and cats and in this presentation she will present her results. The webinar will be split into three main areas. First you will hear about the findings of Dr Murrell’s study in dogs, which compared the analgesic effect of peri-operative methadone (Comfortan) with peri-operative buprenorphine. Next will be a newly published study which compared the analgesic effects of methadone (Comfortan) with buprenorphine in cats undergoing ovariohysterectomy using the QUAD anaesthetic protocol. The webinar will finish with a review of how to get the most from Comfortan in your analgesic practice and will be answering questions following the presentation.
This webinar will entitle you to 1 hour of CPD
