Dechra reveals new name for Fucithalmic® Vet
13 January 2015
A product from Dechra Veterinary Products for eye conditions in dogs, cats and rabbits has been relaunched with a new name, Isathal®.
The product, formerly known as Fucithalmic® Vet, is a highly effective eye drop suspension used to treat eye infections.
Isathal, which contains Fusidic acid, can be used in cats and dogs for the topical treatment of conjunctivitis associated with Staphylococcus aureus and in particular, the biotype Staphylococcus intermedius.
For rabbits, it is used for the topical treatment of conjunctivitis associated with staphylococcal infections.
Dechra Ophthalmology Brand Manager Carol Morgan said: “Fucithalmic Vet has been one of our key products due to the range of small animals it treats and the ease of application. The new name Isathal is part of a European Dechra rebranding programme, but the name is the only thing that has changed.”
Isathal is available in a 3g tube and can be prescribed to treat eyes once or twice daily. Treatment should be continued for 24 hours after the eyes have returned to normal.
