NEW: Cushing's Connect

Dechra Veterinary Products is pleased to announce the launch of Cushing’s Connect. A one stop shop for everything you need to know about Cushing’s.

Cushing’s syndrome is one of the most commonly diagnosed endocrinopathies in dogs but, as cases are not always seen very regularly in general practice, it can be challenging for GP vets to know where to begin when diagnosing and managing these cases.

Cushing’s Connect is designed to help veterinarians better diagnose and treat endocrine disorders in their animal patients. It aims to help refresh their Cushing’s knowledge through four informative bitesize learning modules;

  • Understanding Cushing’s
  • Diagnosis
  • Treatment & Monitoring
  • Client Communication

The new website will also host an extensive library of learning resources providing vets with the confidence to successfully diagnose, treat and monitor Cushing's, as well as FAQs to help assist and refresh knowledge when it is needed the most.

Sedation has a new story

Sedation is an essential tool in every veterinary clinic. Effective sedation facilitates a range of procedures and treatments, allowing optimal and controlled patient care.

Introducing Zenalpha - Innovation in Canine Sedation

Zenalpha is an innovative combination of an alpha-2 agonist and a peripherally selective alpha-2 antagonist combination injection for dogs. Indicated for sedation to facilitate non-invasive, non-painful or mildly painful procedures intended to last less than 30 minutes.

With easy IM administration, fast onset of action (5-15 mins in most dogs) and short duration of action (around 45 mins in most dogs), Zenalpha is the ideal sedative for a wide range of procedures including imaging, blood sampling, ophthalmic examination, skin testing and many more. Heart rate and cardiac output are maintained within the physiological range and organ blood flow is well preserved providing better cardiovascular stability and easier patient monitoring. Zenalpha can be antagonised with atipamezole if desired, but this is not required routinely.

Zenalpha provides some much-needed calm to the sedation experience for patients, owners and your veterinary team.

Uraemic toxins – why should we be concerned?

The term uraemic toxins refers to substances that accumulate in the body when kidney function is impaired. The systemic effects of uraemic toxins are diverse and sometimes life-threatening.

Introducing Porus® One

Porus One helps bind protein byproducts in the intestines where they are excreted in the faeces.

This binding process helps to prevent the byproducts from being converted into uraemic toxins, which supports kidney health.
